Make Change

I finished another quilt!  
My original idea for this quilt came to me in the summer of 2020. As we faced a pandemic and protests against inequality erupted across the world, my idea  was to have the pattern look as though it was falling apart. 


Then while I was quilting it I read Make Change by Shaun King. His explanation of human history not being a steady progression to better and better society but rather a series of peaks and dips changed my life and this quilt. Now this side with the piecing is the

And this side, without the piecing, is the front.  Instead of seeing the pieces as falling apart they are falling into place as we each do everything we can to claw our way out of a dip and rise to a new peak of equality, health and understanding.
